Dinner Club – posh food made by a non-posh person

I don’t think I have ever made a dish with so many disparate ingredients before.

I think this might be it’s best side. All sorts of yummyness! Tea smoked duck is a lightly smoked duck. The white bean puree is just pure tastyness and while I am not usually that bothered about celeriac, the rosti was very tasty. I have never tried making vegetable crisps but they are very awesome indeed! The only thing I wasn’t fussed about was the jus – just a little too bitter for me and not sticky enough. It all blended very deliciously together tho and I was exceptionally pleased with it!

And then, onwards to dessert!

Now this was a complete trial. Pannacotta is easy enough but macadamia pralines are a completely scary thing! I don’t think I got the sugar quite hot enough so the discs were still a little bit chewy but very delicious indeed.

I really liked the white chocolate granita – a fluffed up sorbet style ice-cream. Very refreshing and white chocolaty. I completely screwed up the pineapple crisps by being impatient and not leaving them in the oven long enough. The bitter orange and red wine sauce was a perfect contrast to the sweet dessert.
