6 weeks count down to holidays. Time to up the exercise and drop the carbs.

Well, the title really says it all. We’re off to the south of Portugal – the Algarve – in 6 weeks time and for the first time in 3 or 4 years, we’re planning a relaxing holiday. The type where you lie around on the beach and do not very much at all. Other than eating and drinking. Obviously we’re a bit crap at just doing nothing so we are going to spend 3 days in Sagres (beer and castles) and then 4 days in Vilamoura (food and beaches).

I am already planning on mid-morning Pastel de Nata every day as a mid-morning snack so I’d at least like to start from a low weight point before I spend a week eating loads of food.

So, the plan is, personal training at The Fit Firm twice a week with the lovely (but a little scary) Justin. Plus climbing once a week or so with the ever lovely Helen. And then a couple more sessions at the horrible Fitness First whenever I have the time. Plus resumption of the 100 Press Up challenge.

Foodwise – oats for breakfast, protein shakes during the day, a light lunch of lean protein, good fats and salads and then dinners of nice proteins and roasted veggies / salad.

Ultimate goal is to be strong and to build as much muscle as possible in the next 6 weeks before holiday.
