An underused word that, exercise. E X E R C I S E . Commonly accompanied by lots of whining and a small amount of grouching. After my extreme fitness kick in November last year (exercise twice a day!) I pretty much lost all impetus as we moved house AND then there was Christmas and I haven’t done very much other than a bit of walking on weekends. However, this is all to change now. We are going skiing in 6 weeks and I flat out refuse to ruin a holiday by aching like a bastard every single day. So I WILL be fit before I go.
I had a glorious run this afternoon in lieu of a lunch break. Running in the sunshine is just awesome and I should do it more often. The only issue with it is the van drivers yelling things out of windows at me but I find that loud Rammstein works pretty well. 2.2 miles in about 35 minutes. That’s a bit rubbish isn’t it? However, after 6 weeks of near inactivity I am still running pretty well, much less walking than usual. The two weeks of hardcore exercise obviously upped my fitness a lot. I should do another one (argh! the pain! the lack of wine! the lack of carbs!)
In other news, Simon has just informed me that he once stole a tin of treacle from a dead woman’s house. Bizarre. This has caused much hilarity.
