Bloody sister

Charlie Brock-Lowthian / 14 December 2009

What should I buy her for Christmas. She is a difficult customer and no mistake. I can’t send her anything too big as it has to go via Suitcase Of Mum.

Ripley had a big adventure yesterday, she got to go in a car, cuddle us, try loads of new toys, try new ways to sleep, and she's now part of the family. #ripleythesproodle
Okonomiyaki. Aka Japanese pancakes. Plus theses something exciting about one's food waving at one. Mmmmmm.
Pancake day! Started with a tasty but battered looking buckwheat galette this morning. Didn't read the instructions to slide a fried egg on top so I cracked an egg on top and then had to panickedly shove it under the grill. 🙄🙄
Got all dressed up and did the Matt & Oli Love In cook along tonight. Which was basically like being shouted at by a rather exacting chef (this might have been the @s1m0nl effect who went into full chef mode) to chop, saute, pop in the oven, oooh nice wine, etc. Cat was totally unbothered until she tried some and then was obsessed. Wine was excellent. Can't wait to drink it, in the garden, in the sunshine, with a bunch of friends. #wineisforeveryday #wineislove #moblli
Made a ridiculously complicated Austrian cake for no reason whatsoever. Contains poppy seeds, pecans (should have been walnuts but they have entirely disappeared) and apple. Recipe from @dianahenryfood and obviously I didn't read it properly because the icing should be inside the cake, nestled with the homemade plum jam from @juliebrock949. Used every implement in the kitchen and as I didn't have 2 20cm pans, I used a pot for the other side. Worked like a dream.
Went for a walk this morning, check out how frozen over the pond is! Suspect @johnbrock3247 and @brockedith would have actual shudders at the thought of these temps. And yes, I did crack holes in the pond for birds to have drinking water.
Decided I wanted to move the wood store to a different part of the garden and the easiest way to do that seemed to be to burn all the wood in it. Cue 3 hours of hanging around, chilling next to the fir while considering all my wild garden plans for the rest of the year.
Long cat.
For the first time ever, I made a courgette crust pizza and not only was it delicious, the base all held together and it wasn't sloppy. Obviously I put ham and pineapple on my half because that's how I roll. @s1m0nl had all the spicy shizz on his side.
